Preface
This "Inventing Game" has many problems ?
I am Robert Merlyn Farwell, better known by just my middle name “MERLYN”
I have been a full time, increasingly well seasoned, pioneering Lone Inventor for the last 15 years, ever since Black & Decker did me for £3.750m. At exhibitions I have spent many a long, educational, enjoyable night in the bar with hundreds of different lone inventors, all with different insights into the ever-increasing, evolving problems inventors face. I have also spent vast amounts of time discussing and debating with a myriad of associate offshoots of this inventing game. With my large amount of insights and knowledge, at meetings, seminars and the like I do get very involved and passionate and have gained the reputation as being very forthright. Can’t argue with that!
I have exhibited at all of the 15 major annual inventions shows in UK, (bar2) from The Great British Innovations and Inventions Show (1994) organised then by Malcolm Cook to the now renamed British Innovation & Technology Show (2007) organised by Kane Kramer. The venue has changed 5 times, NEC, Barbican, Earls Court, Barbican, Ally Pally. I have also exhibited at IMPEX in USA and attended the Geneva Show. There have been other smaller UK shows that I have exhibited at and many more ancillary shows, seminars etc that I have visited.
I am a long-standing member of a good number of the Inventor clubs in the UK and have traveled far and wide visiting other Inventor Clubs. I was the only one of (MAG) the Management Advisory Group to attend the board meeting of the now dead British Inventions Society (BIS) held at Kingston University, London. I represented Birmingham and BlackCountry Inventors at another attempted group British Association For Inventors (BAFI) meetings held at The patent Office London. BAFI had limited goals, at present it seems to be stalled if not dead.

YES and NO!
There are just two underlying problems :- 1st . Is the “New Naive” Lone Inventor, and 2nd. Is the Old Experienced "Inventing Game".
Numerous inexperienced, New, Naïve, Expectant Lone Inventors lose much when chancing the inventing game.
Some Old, Seasoned, Experienced Inventors, Then Become “The Inventing Game”
This perpetuates the increasing exploitation, existence, growth, and evolution of The Games.
A hard-hitting concise explicit reasoning is available on www.inventingtoday.co.uk
I make no apology for what you are about to read, because it must be said, and some bits may upset some of you.
It is NOT costing you any money to read these true insights and if you stick with it, it will probably save you much time, money and heartache and help you progress your invention / innovations.
They get ripped off by unscrupulous manufacturers.
They get ripped of by Invention Promoters
They have their inventions stolen
They are charged a fortune to get a patent on their invention.
They pay many times to different people to evaluate their invention.
They cannot find anyone to pay a fortune for their brilliant invention.
They spend to promote their Invention at shows.
They sometimes put their house in jeopardy.
They spend much time filling in forms to get financial help but don’t get it.
Then they are told they did it ALL wrong, and pay to be told how!
Etc.
Etc. and end up poor.
1. Why is this happerning? - It's Because
It’s making lots of people loads of money
It’s keeping many in full time work
It’s adaptable and persuasive enough to perpetuate its own existence and evolution.
It’s convoluted enough to keep inventors and inovators in the dark
2. Is there a single problem? - YES:- The inventor
To put it correctly the “Naive” Lone Inventor is THE problem
They naively enter the inventing game unwittingly perpetuating the games existence and evolution
They don’t understand the rules of the game
They don’t know how to make it work for them.
Etc.
Etc.
OK, But all the lone inventor has to do is to get educated.
Well YES that’s the correct solution
BUT let’s ask this question of different people “I’ve got this idea what should I do?"
Answers From
Patent agent (1) “pay me to file a patent application”
Invention Promoter (1) “pay me to evaluate it”
Patent agent (2) “pay me to do a search”
Invention Promoter (1) “pay me to search”
Patent agent (2) I’ve found nothing “NOW pay me to file a patent application”
Kingston Enterprise exchange "Take our degree course in Inventing"
Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Etc. Etc.
Etc.
It's just the start
